Rewards for Justice is offering a reward of up to $5 million for information on the USS Cole attack. On October 12, 2000, two suicide bombers rammed a small explosives-laden boat into the USS Cole — a U.S. Navy guided missile destroyer — in the harbor at Aden, Yemen, during a routine refueling stop. The resulting explosion opened a large hole in the side of the ship, killed 17 sailors, and wounded more than 30 others. The attack was planned by members of al-Qa’ida, including now-deceased operatives Jamal Ahmed Mohammed Ali al-Badawi and Fahd Mohammed Ahmed al-Quso.
